Warsaw - Czestochowa - Krakow - Budapest - Zagreb - Medjugorje - Ancona - Rome
Day 1 Warsaw
Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2 Warsaw
In the morning, visit with local guide the city's landmarks such as the Gothic Cathedral of St. John and the Barbican Gate; we will pass through the Square (Rynek) of the Old City with buildings of 17th and 18th centuries and we will see the Church of the Holy Cross where the heart of Frederic Chopin is kept. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 Warsaw - Czestochowa (220km/3h)
Today, depart for Czestochowa where we will enjoy free time for religious activities in the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna "Jasna Gora" and to visit the surrounding walls and the museum dedicated to the history of the Monastery. Accommodation in hotel.
Day 4 Czestochowa - Krakow (140km/2h)
Transfer to Krakow for the guided visit of this city, founded more than thousand years ago. We will see Wawel Castle, the Cathedral, the Church of St. Mary, the old city and the jewish quarter. We will pass through the Jagiellonian University, the oldest in Poland where the astronomer Copernicus studied. Overnight in hotel.
Day 5 Krakow - Auschwitz - Wadowice - Krakow (150km/3h)
Transfer to the Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau. Visit the former concentration camp, built by the Germans during the Nazi occupation of Poland. Here, during WWII, the Nazis killed more than one million people, mostly of Jewish origin. Nowadays Auschwitz is an integral part of UNESCO World Heritage. Continue to Wadowice, the hometown of Pope John Paul II. Visit the house where he was born on May 18th, 1920, and the parish church in which he was baptized. Return to Krakow for overnight in hotel.
Day 6 Krakow - Budapest (400km/7h)
On board our motorcoach, we will depart for Hungary. Arrive Budapest, the capital city, and accommodation in hotel.
Day 7 Budapest
In the morning, depart on a half day city tour visiting Buda and Pest (the city is divided in two by the Danube River). We start from Buda: the historic Castle Hill, the Fishermen's Bastion, Mount Gellert, Margaret Island, Matthias Coronation Church and Buda Castle. In Pest, we will see the National Parliament and the Hero’s Square, with sculptures depicting the different phases of Hungarian history. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 Budapest - Zagreb (350km/4h)
Depart for Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Upon arrival, short guided visit of the historic centre. Accommodation in hotel.
Day 9 Zagreb - Medjugorje (440km/6h)
Transfer to Medjugorje. Arrival and accommodation in hotel. Beginning of religious activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Medjugorje
Full day dedicated to religious activities. We will climb Podbrdo or Apparition Hill, where on June 24th, 1981 Our Lady with a baby in her arms appeared to 6 young parishioners and keeps appearing and delivering us her messages. It will be possible to ascend Mount Krizevac (Cross Mountain) and meet the Visionaries (if available). Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 Medjugorje - Split - Ancona (140km/2h + ferry)
Morning at leisure. At proper time, transfer to Split to embark on the overnight ferry boat to Ancona. Overnight on board.
Day 12 Ancona - Rome (300km/3,30h)
Disembark in Ancona and transfer to Rome, the "Eternal City". Arrival and check into hotel.
Day 13 Rome
Today enjoy a full-day guided city tour of Ancient and Modern Rome: visit St. Peter's Basilica, St Peter's Square and the Vatican Museums (with Sistine Chapel), the Forum, the Coliseum, and the principal Roman Squares. Return to the hotel for overnight.
Day 14 Rome
Transfer to the Airport.
