Day 1 Madrid
Arrival at the airport. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in Madrid.
Day 2 Madrid
Enjoy a half-day guided tour of Madrid highlights. See Plaza Major, pass through the luxury boulevard Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol with the symbol of Madrid - a bear and the Madroño tree. At plaza España admire the monument to Cervantes. In the afternoon choose to visit Prado Museum, the main spanish national art museum and one of the world’s greatest art galleries, or The Royal Palace, official residence of the Royal family. Otherwise known in Spanish as the Palacio Real, the Royal Palace was built during the 18th and 19th centuries, and is a monumental building.
Day 3 Madrid - Toledo (80 km/ 1,30h) - Madrid (80 km/ 1,30h)
Today enjoy a half-day tour to Toledo, Spain's medieval capital. Visit the Church of Santo Tomé, home to one of El Greco’s most famous painting.Tour highlights include also the amazing 13th-century cathedral, the medieval castle and Santa Maria La Blanca Synagogue. Return to Madrid in the early afternoon. Free time to explore by yourself the vibrant capital.
Day 4 Madrid - Escorial (60 km/1h) - Valley of the Fallen (10 km/10 min) - Madrid (70km/ 1,10h)
Half-day tour to El Escorial Monastery and the Valley of the Fallen. Located in the foothills of the Sierra Guadarrama, the historical residence is considered one of the modern wonders of the world. It was built by King Philip II of Spain and also houses the remains of his parents, Charles I and Isabella of Portugal. Located 9 km north of El Escorial, lies the Valley of the Fallen. With its vast basilica, the monument was built to commemorate the all those who died during the Spanish Civil War. About 40 000 soldiers are buried here also with the spanish dictator - Francisco Franco. Return to Madrid in the afternoon and free time.
Day 5 Madrid
Departure to Madrid airport.
